FAQs
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism, controlled by the brain, spinal cord and nerves of the body. When there are misalignments in the vertebras, which house and protect the nervous system, can cause malfunction of the tissues and organs throughout the body.
Chiropractic medicine is a form of natural health care that focuses on treating a patient without the use of drugs or medicines. Doctors of Chiropractic, more commonly known as chiropractors, are primary health care providers licensed in all 50 states, and are recognized by governmental healthcare programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation programs and more.
Chiropractors frequently treat individuals with problems, such as headaches, joint pain, neck pain, low back pain and sciatica. Chiropractors also treat patients with osteoarthritis, spinal disk conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, sprains, and strains. However, the scope of conditions that chiropractors manage or provide care for is not limited to the common pains and problems listed above.
Pain can come from a number of different parts of the body. It could be from torn or damaged muscles, ligaments or tendons. It may be from inflammation. An examination would be performed in order to determine where your specific problem is coming from. Once determined, a thorough explanation of your condition will be provided, along with a course of care recommended to return you to better health.
Chiropractic may be able to help you, and it may not. That is the question that will be determined with a thorough examination and possibly x-rays. If you are not a candidate for chiropractic care, then a referral to the right health care provider will be recommended. If you are a candidate for chiropractic care, a complete examination of your condition and recommended course of treatment will be provided.
We never treat any patients more than is needed or wanted. Many patients with active lifestyles choose to remain under care periodically in order to maintain their good health once they have achieved their health goals. All treatment recommendations will be discussed with you prior to starting any care.
Chiropractic is very safe. From new born’s to geriatric patients that are over a hundred years old, millions are safely adjusted every year.
Chiropractic adjustments should help and should not hurt, though it is not uncommon to feel a little sore — similar to hard workout — after your first couple of adjustments, as your body goes through healthy changes. If there are ever any concerns with pain after a Chiropractic treatment, those should be addressed to the doctor immediately so that they can be discussed and determined if it is normal or abnormal.
Treatment is recommended based upon the individual case that is presented. Most will experience relief in the first couple of weeks.
Cost for treatment varies depending on the services provided. All costs are fully explained to the patient prior to performance of any service, there will be no surprises. We accept most insurances and will work with you to help you understand what your benefits are.
